Solar panels were installed in 2024 using a power purchase agreement. This means that the solar company is replacing the local electric utility (Xcel Energy in this case). The home is still connected to Xcel, but all the electricity comes from the solar panels!
Currently, the home owners only pay $150 per month for electricity using the Power Purchase Agreement. Any excess power that is not used is rolled over each month. This is a huge bonus since the owner’s Xcel bills fluctuated between $200-$315 every month!
Through the Power Purchase Agreement, the rate charged for electricity increases 2.99% every year. This is also a huge bonus for the home owner since Xcel has unpredictable rate hikes often.
The Power Purchase Agreement also allows for the homeowner to purchase the solar panels after 5 years. This is a great way to own your own solar!

WHAT THE SELLERS WILL MISS MOST
We will miss so much about our home! We love everything from the giant backyard to the open floor plan. This space was perfect for our active family. There is plenty of space for our home gym in the garage, and lots of extra space in the basement.
The backyard sealed the deal for us when we bought it. We’ll miss hanging out under the pergola – which was perfect for outdoor meals. And there was even plenty of space for our garden chickens.
The location of our home is also something we really enjoyed. Backing up to open space gave us a real sense of privacy. It’s nice being a little out of town and knowing that Old Town Fort Collins is only a quick 20-minute drive away.
