Tips for Visiting NoCo Open Houses
Take your real estate agent with you!
You may be early in the house hunting game. Maybe you don’t have an agent yet! But be wary of letting the open house agent write an offer on their own listing on your behalf! Typically, the agent at an open house represents the seller, so it can be difficult for them to represent you as well. Keep in mind that having your own agent as a buyer is totally FREE to you. If you don’t have one yet, please contact me, and I will happily be the agent in your corner!
Be sure to sign in
This one can make some people a little uncomfortable. While some agents use the sign in sheet as a way to collect names of potential clients, the sign in sheet is there for the safety of the agent and the homeowner. After all, if you had a bunch of strangers walking through your house, wouldn’t you want to know who they were?
Especially if you are just starting your home search! Make sure you jot down notes about things you loved, hated, and things you could live without. Use a notes app on your phone to record your thoughts about the inside of the house, the yard, and the location. You can even take some pictures to save in your app so you remember which house you were talking about!
