Best Summer Activities in Loveland and NoCo

Summer has arrived, and we couldn’t be more pumped for it! So many of our favorite Northern Colorado activities are here! Especially after a weird summer last year with COVID, we are more excited than ever to check out everything NoCo has to offer. I thought I’d make a quick list of all of the best summer activities in Loveland and Northern Colorado so you can add them to your list too!

Go to the Drive-In in Fort Collins

Fort Collins is home to one of the few remaining drive-in theaters, and the Holiday Twin is a staple of every summer. They always offer double features, and now they have an awesome patio that serves alcohol too! So load up the truck or grab your lawn chairs and go see some movies!

Loveland Summer Concert Series at the Foote Lagoon

All summer long, every Thursday night, enjoy family-friendly live music at the Foote Lagoon. This unique venue places the band on a stage in the middle of the pond while guests enjoy from the surrounding amphitheater. The concert series also features food trucks and kid’s activities.

Go to a Festival

Loveland, Fort Collins, and many of the surrounding towns are excited to bring back festivals! Check out Taste of Fort Collins (already sold out, but you still might be able to snag a one-day pass!), the Break Free Fitness Festival, the Loveland Corn Roast Festival, and Loveland Loves BBQ, Bands, and Brews.

Go on a Day Trip to RMNP

I’ve shared a before about winter activities in Rocky Mountain National Park, but there are maybe even more great things to do in the park during the summer. There are many trails to hike, drive over Trail Ridge Road, and if you have little kids in your crew, I highly recommend stopping by the visitor center to grab a booklet to do the Junior Ranger Program. 

Paddleboard at Windsor Lake

There are other places in NoCo where you can go paddleboarding. But Windsor Lake is one of my favorites because the rentals are so affordable! It’s only $7 per half hour to rent a paddleboard, and they also have Aqua Trikes, Hydrobikes, canoes, kayaks, and more.
