Best of Loveland + NoCo 4th of July

Best of NoCo

Many things are feeling extra exciting after a year of COVID. And an epic 4th of July is on the top of my list of things I’ve been looking forward to. I bet many of you feel the same! So I’ve compiled a list of Loveland + NoCo 4th of July activities. Take your pick and enjoy!

Loveland + Fort Collins Fireworks

This year Loveland and Fort Collins are teaming up again for Drive-In Fireworks at The Ranch. Now before you get worked up, let’s consider the positives. The show is still free, and they’re planning to have 4,000 parking spots for people to enjoy the show. It’s not our usual NoCo 4th of July, so why does it still need to be this way?

According to the City of Loveland website, pulling off an epic fireworks show—like Loveland and Fort Collins are known for—takes a lot of planning. And when they started planning back in January, they just had no idea what the restrictions would be like in July. So, we get one more year of drive-in fireworks, and hopefully, everything will go back to normal after that!

There will be food trucks on-site, but there will not be any other vendors.

Old Fashioned 4th of July at the 1879 Avery House

The Poudre Landmarks Foundation is marketing this event as a good family alternative since the 4th of July Parade is still not happening in FoCo. Instead, plan on taking your family to the Old Fashioned 4th of July at the 1879 Avery House. This event includes live music, old-fashioned games, and food trucks.

Loveland Liberty 5K

A staple for many in Loveland is to start their 4th off with the Loveland Liberty 5K, which starts and ends at Fairgrounds Park. This year, they have an in-person and virtual race, and those who compete in person get a shirt and free beer. Also, the first 400 people to sign up get a coupon for a meal from Freddy’s. They also have a 400-yard kids race with popsicles for finishers.

19th Annual 4th at Firestone

This event is a little further south than I usually share, but if you’re craving a good old Fourth of July, they are doing a parade and regular fireworks in Firestone. The 19th Annual 4th at Firestone features the parade at 9 am, and the Main Event at Miner’s Park from 5:30 pm- 10 pm. The main event has vendors, live music, and a fireworks show starting at 9:30 pm.

Things might not be quite back to normal for the 4th, but there are still plenty of ways you can celebrate! Let me know if I missed anything in the comments!
